The 5000K and 6500K refer to the color temperature, aka tint. You may be familiar with these when it comes to the standard light bulbs you use in your residence.

5000K is often known as "Daylight White" because it's similar to the light outdoors at noon on a bright, sunny day. In other words, this is a clear white light.

6500K is often known as "Cool White;" it is more intense and has a slightly bluish tone.

In my opinion, if you're buying a flashlight to show off, the 6500K will probably look cooler. For regular usage, the 5000K is much more practical because it's easier on the eyes for most people.

Click here for a visual comparison of 5000K and 6500K for this particular flashlight (photo is from the official product page). [staticdj.com]

I hope this helps,

The Sofirn Q8 Plus is 16,000 Lumens vs the Sofirn Q8 Pro 11,000 Lumens, a difference of 5,000 lumens.

I have the plus version and like it a lot. It probably has the highest lumen output of all my flashlights. My daughter calls it "the power of the sun" when it's on.

same, haven't pulled it out except on a couple camping trips to try it out. sp33s is also on sale now and half the size, not as bright but insanely bright. it's become my favorite flashlight and you can actually carry it in a pocket.

Bought one of these or very similar on a FP deal worked for a few weeks before it got weaker and weaker with each full charge. Completely dead now with a total of maybe 1-2 hours of use time

i might go with the sp36 blf. seems about the same just one less battery and of course less lumens
The SP36 is also a conversation starter. If you have not used it or the Q8 you will be amazed. I have 2 SP36 FYI.

Get it replaced by Sofirn. These are pretty durable. You have a bad one.

I have the plus as well and love it. I bought it when it went on sale in June and paid $78.03 out the door. That included the batteries as well. Personally I'd wait for the plus version if anyone is considering buying this one
I also have the plus and am very happy with it. The only thing I'd add is that the listed pro will fit in their large holster where as the plus will not. I'd also recommend adding a diffuser to your order no matter which light you end up getting.

I own this flashlight and use it frequently, overall I like it, does not get hot - only minuses are that: 1. it weighs as much as an actual brick, and 2. it needs button-top 18650's, which are not so common like flat tops are (95% of 18650's on the market are flat tops) - It comes with 4 Chinese ones, which are much better than average for Chinese 18650's, but not up to par with LG, Samsung, Sony, Molicel, etc.

These flashlights have overheating protection built in, with a default limit of 45 degrees Celcius. So they'll get hot, but they shouldn't burn you.

The protection also means that realistically, they "only" output about 1500 lumens after a short period of time. The 11000 lumen number is only maintained for a matter of a few seconds at most, then it goes down to 3500 lumens or so after 30 seconds, and slowly goes down from there.

For more info https://1lumen.com/review/sofirn-...t_desc_1.1
If the Q8 can only maintain max brightness for 30 seconds then drops to 3500 why not get something like the SP36, SC33, etc? Trying to understand the logic for getting a high lumen flashlight if it can't maintain the output?

What is the 20% off code? I can't find it. Thanks.

If you need it by Christmas, Amazon has it with a 25% off coupon (YMMV) that makes it around $71. A little more, but can arrive in time.

Edit: It's actually a better deal by $1. Comes with the batteries.
