This Xbox generation sucks compared to the previous consoles with barely any games worth playing and basically no exclusives at all. No wonder why it's on sale every single week. I don't care about Diablo IV, either. Who cares if it's a powerful console if there's nothing actually worth playing? I'd rather play the original Xbox over this.

I don't own one, but Forza and Halo are great exclusive games. And Game Pass is really good compared to the others. Diablo 4 is now a great game, but understand it may not be everyone's cup of tea. However, this has been cheaper and at more reputable stores.

If you build off that idea, then the xbox series x is the most powerful original xbox ever.

You kidding? Compared to the other options xbox is the most consumer friendly this gen. They actually have regular sales on top of game pass. Which is nice considering the whole xbox one fiasco. You talk about nothing worth playing, but most of sony's titles are kind of boring. People have burn out on marvel including spiderman. I don't think the new spiderman even had any wins at this years game awards the story was so bad. The best games this gen have mostly been third party.
The only thing I might even miss from Sony is the jrpgs although many of those are just third party as well. What was on my radar for sony is FF7R, which they've already kind of screwed up on considering it was supposed to be a faithful adaptation that people were interested in, not "whispers". Then there's the dark souls series, sure they have access to the demon souls remake, yeah I'm kind of jealous, but Elden Ring which is vastly superior is on every platform.
Capcom has been releasing all the good survival horror games on all plats. TLOU storyline was also butchered similar to FF7 so people aren't as invested. First party properties haven't been managed well this gen tbh with one exception.
Nintendo has the strongest first party, but you can just get both since it's a portable system. The problem with picking nintendo right now though is they're supposed to have a new console next year so buying the tail end of it's console life cycle is probably a bad idea.
The way I look at it is the average price of a good 4k blu ray player is 150 and you get a game console on top of it. If you don't like Diablo then go for the 350 sale if you can still find it anywhere. We're pretty close to consoles having no physical media option so that's one of the reasons I picked one up this holiday season. I don't like the concept of some license dispute meaning my game is removed from a digital server, like what happened with some tv shows recently on a certain platform.

thanks. no verizon mobile here. do we need to pay every month to maintain or play any downloaded games?
It's a monthly or yearly subscription. Unless you purchase games through gamepass(discounted), it's like a streaming service and you can only play them with a current subscription.

can we get a game through gamepass then stop paying for monthly sub and still play if offline?

I guess I only saved 50 bucks by jumping when I did.
This feel makes me feel less great about my "deal.". But I guess I see 50 bucks so there's that
