Any value to this over the $180 I pay Mint yearly? Haven't had any issues with a TMobile MVNO, but am unfamiliar with U.S. Mobile, their coverage, and what they offer. yea, I can Google it, but as the first post here indicates: YMMV. So I'm curious what y'all's mileage has been!
No value at all. US Mobile wasn't good experience for me. Billing problems, billing problems, billing problems. I came back to Mint. Smooth ride since.

I'm assuming the $180 you pay Mint yearly is for their 5GB plan. Compared to the deal in the OP, I would say no. If you can get by with 5GB of data every month, then there's no need for you to spend another $100/year for what the US mobile yearly plan offers.

Now, if you were to compare US Mobile's shareable data plans, then it's a bit closer call. You can get their base $10 plan which includes 2GB, and add 3GB more at $2/gb whenever to get you to the same 5GB mint offers for exactly $16/month. You didn't factor in the cost of taxes and fees on mint, so with taxes and fees, the monthly cost are close if not the same.

The main benefits of US mobile shareable data plans are:
-option for either T-mobile or Verizon networks
-flexibility to add more data if you need it, and save money when you use less
-paying monthly instead of yearly.

Visible is deprioritized data, just be aware.
The base $25 visible plan is deprioritized, but the Visible+ plan has priority data.

And only LTE is deprioritized, 5G UW isn't prioritized or deprioritized at all, at least not yet.
Visible+ = QCI 8
Visible = QCI 9 for LTE

Am I wrong or have they just changed their prices again? Seems like a couple of months ago they went from adding taxes and fees so they could publish prices without add on fees (one of their biggest areas of complaints). At that time I thought the starter unlimited was $25/month even for only one line. Now it looks like that single line is $29 and so on. Have they also just changed the requirements on the "up to" $100 prepaid card--now two lines for 12 months?

If you want to pay for a whole year in advance, to save about $6/month, go for it, but please give them a real world try first. Some folks (but not everyone) have had very good experiences.

I think they have fairly good service with the supposedly prioritized data, but I have found their customer care and their incentives to be a little shady over the last 18 months or so (speaking to the free trials they have offered with way too many hoops to jump thru and even then failing to provide--probably just me).

Just some thoughts.
$29? Where? I still see $25 per month for the starter plan.

You are seeing $25 as their page defaults to a 3 Line rate. Change it to a single line of starter and you will see it is $29/mo.

That slight change in speed tests is due do to the network management kicking in on the fly while the speed tests are happening simultaneously. Same thing happens with my Visible+ and anyone who has Verizon Post Paid plans high enough to be on QCI7.

I have five family members lines on USM shared data pool, since they usually all manage to keep it under 2gb/mo, and have been very happy with it all over the past year, their support is amazing, probably the best support you there from any wireless provider.

However, if you still want unlimited data and hotspot, then Visible is the way to go, IMO.
Visible for me and tested recently never got even to 5 mbps in my area while US MOBILE HITS REGULARLY 700 MBPS in my area. Same phone being used just difference between visible and US MOBILE.

They introduced new plans last week. I was on $25 but when I tired to pay it gave me an option to to select new plan for $29. I kinda got upset and went to Reddit and USmobile has its own community where they explained everything. I found out that current customers automatically grandfathers old rate. But it didn't work for me.. so I chatted with customer support they said I had auto pay off so that's why it overwrote my current rate to a new plan. They reverted me back to $25 and told me to keep autopay on. So yeah..

And I think old $25 plan had 10GB Hotspot now whoever kept $25 getting 5gb hotspot( I could care less about it)

Sounds like your sim wasn't provisioned correctly and you were stuck using LTE/5G nationwide/DSS vs 5G UW (C Band). 700mbps is standard C Band speeds.

If you use esim how/where do you select which network you want to use? I was thinking about switching ti visible but have been holding out for their $35 + plan; I do not use a lot of hotspot data and am on wifi a lot so it seems like maybe the US starter would be fine for me. I have friends that have t-mobile though and the service in my area is pretty bad; staying on verizon's network for me is kind of a must. Any insight would be appreciated! They don't list the pixel 8 but I know it has esim so should be all set.
I just did with my pixel 6 pro. After you create an account either on their app or website you get to select which network you want to go. If you select warp, that's their Verizon network.

If you're in visible $25 (or $30) plan jumping to US Mobile $29/mo or $279 annually has any benefit?

In switching from Visible to USM, you'll be giving up unlimited hotspot and will instead have 10gb on the starter plan. You would be gaining priority data on USM with Verizon (Warp) vs always de-prioritized with Visible. Also USM customer service is excellent, not too sure about visible's in comparison.

Thanks for this. I ended up going with visible+ for $35 (I also do my internet thru them so I retained that $10 discount). Little cheaper than the premium US (so long as visible doesn't bail on the $35 'until they feel like changing it' lol)
