I don't work for these other companies, but there are versions you plug directly into your diagnostic port. Seems like those would be a lot better than cutting wires.

I have an oem remote start that requires monthly subscription/payment. Longterm, this is very costly. Is it possible to install an aftermarket remote start "over" the factory system?

Yes it is. & in my case the factory system still works
