It has a lid (with more plastic on it), but doesn't your grill already have a lid anyway?
Why would you use the rack for draining fried items when it's going to sit there cooking in the grill heat?
It has a handle... either you put it over the grill heat, which wastes space, or you have it stick out, and now you can't close the grill?

Some of the reviews say the handle is "rubber" and well made, but specs say "plastic". Rubber sounds like silicone to me. Who knows, bought one anyway, worse case it melts and I can just purchase a removable handle.

This might make it instantly an oven pot since your only "melting" piece is the handle sans the cover as well.

That is half true. You need the maillard point, but you still need some oil. The key is to get to the MP first.
