Just to emphasize what some others have said: This big boy only fits in a handful of sub-$300 cases. It fits in the front of my Phanteks P600S but only with the pipes at the top. It supposedly fits into the top of a couple of the big Fractal Design cases (Define XL and Meshify, I think), and there's only 2 or 3 others that I found in my research it fit in. It did NOT fit into my Fractal Design R5, despite it being listed as capable of holding a 420mm radiator.
That said, my 5800X has never gone above like 50 degrees since I installed this thing, it's ridiculously effective. I don't regret spending extra on a super nice case just so that I could fit this sucker into it.
I run this cooler on a 7800 X3D. It's overkill, however, it works great and will provide enough cooling for any chip I get for the foreseeable future. TU!

It says this item is frequently returned on Amazon. Why are people returning it
I'm guessing because most people don't realize how big it is and find out it doesnt fit so they send it back. Like others have said, doesnt fit in most cases.

it fits and bolts up inside the r5, but you need low profile ram and will most likely have to either remove or cut down that silly metal "heatsink" on the top of the motherboard.
i wasn't ready to hack on a new motherboard, so i flipped the top panel on the case over, and mounted this 420 cooler on top of the r5 :-0 then covered up the minor gaps with black gaffer tape.
it looks fully stupid, but it cools the inefficient i9-12900k really well, this is a great cooler.

It's so big that not very many cases will fit it so people buy it not realizing just how big it is try to fit it in their PC case it doesn't fit and they return it.

What compelled you to have a $150 cooler that performs similar to $50 air coolers? What's the point? Genuine question
No $50 air cooler is going to be similar to this. The ones that get close are more than $50 and put a huge weight on your mobo and make changing components a pain.
Also these are generally much quieter than air coolers.

Box came inside another, standard Amazon shipping. But it was beat up, cardboard ripped, enough to make you uneasy.

I'm thinking it might fit in my Antec P1 FT since the max TOP radiator clearance says it's 420mm.
