Have you gone through a lot of Ryobi stuff? If so, I'm surprised. I've seen Ryobi stuff used and abused for years on farms and all kinds of other places, and it seems to last pretty good even in those environments. Of course, part of the reason for using Ryobi in those environments is that you don't want to abuse the expensive stuff. If I might drop a tool 30 feet and destroy it, or have it fall off a tractor and lay in the pasture for a week, I don't want it to be an expensive one.

If quality is the main concern, though, why fool with Ridgid or any of these brands that the big box stores sell? There are much higher quality brands out there (Festool, Hilti for power tools, Stahlwille and Hazet for hand tools, etc.).

If you want them I would recommend picking them up at Home Depot with the free shipping. I can't see them getting much cheaper than that on DTO. If you figure the list price would be minimum $50, then even this deal would have them at $25 plus shipping. And that's assuming the sale price would even apply.

Even adding $15 for shipping, that's still just over half the Home Depot price.

It's like all Direct Tools sales, not everything will be at great prices. For stuff you want, compare it to the regular price at Home Depot, not the "list" price.

I'm one of the few that have a DTO to use for pickup or walk into the store so shipping is hardly ever an issue from them.

Edit: The MSRP of most items are about half at DTO so it'll likely start at $30-$40 and then a sale would make it better. I have to remember to test the speakers before the return window is up. I got 2 whisper series fans during a 50% off sale for $20-$25 each (HD was $99 each) and they're great in their lowest setting.

The Ridgid 18v brushless combo linked is a nice drill/impact driver set for $115 after shipping. Listed for $230 at home Depot and should still qualify for the lifetime service agreement if you register within 90 days.

With these sales, it's always good to see if there are multiple things you need to help mitigate the shipping costs since it's flat rate no matter how much you buy
