The fuel cartridges for those battery operated ones are incredibly expensive. Amazon is selling 120hr refill for those for $55! That comes out to $0.46/hr.
Meanwhile you can get a 216hr pack of pads from Amazon for $14. Add a $5 can of Butane to refill your cartridges and you're looking at less than $0.08/hr.
Better yet, buy the "backpacking" version of the Thermocell and grab a 16oz Isobutane tank for $10 and you'll have enough fuel to last you all season. It'll be just as cheap but you'll save yourself the trouble of refilling the small cartridges.

I've found these effective compared to other options myself.
