So glad I bought hulu for the year for $1.99/mo on bf. Combine with adblocker and get no ads.

Yes, these will work to pay for the $2 subscription. However, once you load the giftcard balance on Hulu, it is locked to that account and cannot be transferred. This matters because you will be stuck with $80 credit on that account at the end of the year, and you are not guaranteed a deal for that account (e.g. BF deals may not apply to existing account). Just something to consider before making this purchase.
