Bought the weekender. My GF has owned an eBag for about 5 years now and it's a solid bag. Construction and materials are similar to a higher end photography bag so the high MSRP whether one believes they are worth that is still accurate. This is a good sale!

EDIT: Also, in case folks don't know eBags the brand, they were bought for and owned by Samsonite.

Solid bag. I got my pro slim laptop bag and it's been holding strong for 2yrs+ Back then it was around $80, when on sale.

Thinking of buying the "Weekender". Compartments and design seem to be 90% similar to "Slim laptop" bag. Anyone know the real differences and have first hand experience of either or both?

What is the real regular price of this? The MSRP seems unrealistic

I would avoid looking at the MSRP, but IIRC the MSRP was around the same price when I bought mine 4-5 years ago (maybe around $90 or so).

$40 I think is a good price point for these. I have the slim version for 3+ years and it's very nice quality. Material is thick and held up to abrasions, lots of pockets and compartments. The rigid compartment at the bottom is nice to store cords, battery packs, etc.

Just judging by the dimensions, the weekender is a bit larger to store a bit of clothing/toiletries, etc. I like the "Slim" for daily work commute and the "Weekender" to have that bit of storage for "whatever" (or for airplane "personal item").

Quick search on these bags and saw that some of these have typically gone from $40-60 on SD in recent months. Weekender in particular seems to be at a really good price so I got one, wanted the biggest size they've got and it has a chest strap.

Thanks! In for one. My only gripe about the slim laptop bag is that mine is "front heavy"; bag doesn't standup on its own, and generally flops face down. I think by design it is, and not related to how I pack the bag. This is also a common complaint from reviews.

Agree with you on the "front heavy" comment because mine also falls face down. I've used mine on business trips and it's been very handy. Once time I had an emergency trip that I had to make and having room for my laptop and an emergency set of clothes was very handy.

I've had the original version of this bag for about 10 years I think. Still looks brand new. I just sent this one to a friend as a Christmas gift. Even though the "updated" version has cut some corners, he wouldn't know and enjoy the bag! Smilie
Thanks OP!

My wife got me a the Slim Laptop Backpack probably 6 or 7 years ago. It has held up really well. Doesn't really stand on upright very well (like someone here said, it likes to fall down face forward), but not a deal breaker for me. Materials a top-quality, stitching and zipper components very good as well. I like the protective parts like that bottom part to put mouse and charger in and not worry about them getting crushed. For $34, heartily recommend.

I've had all three at one time or another. The weekender has more room for clothes. I just never used it. I always ended up using a wheeled carryon for clothes. But it's a solid bag. I had the Jr but it was a tad small so I continue to use the Pro Slim. Going strong after 7 years. Paid $65 on sale back then. This price is a steal!
