Id like to learn piano and found a used Yamaha P71 with stand for $300. Is the FP10 that much better to justify the price difference?

can someone recommend a good bench + keyboard stand + headphones, since the one that comes with the bundle is crap, according to most users here?

EDIT: bundle here with bench/stand/headphones AND petal for $615 - but many people say it's crap! https://www.adorama.com/rofp10bkd.html

It was only recently made into an app. It's one of the best piano plugins you can buy. It sounds and plays much much better than any onboard sound would from a piano at this price. It competes with some of the best piano sample libraries on the market. Top of the line sample libraries can reach 100+ gigs and could never be an iPhone app. Pianoteq is different because it's a virtual sound so it's only about 50mb. It's a bit expensive, the starting package is $129 I think but you can sometimes find it for 25% off.

Listen to some of the audio samples on the website. Even a lot of advanced players would never know it's not a real piano. Theres a free demo to play but Idk if it works as the app, you probably need to set it up on a PC. Pianos like the Roland hook up to a PC by USB(You would also download asio4all if you don't have a audio interface).

Costco deal is worth $80 extra. Extended warranty/returns. Keyboard stand and bench are from Roland and quite decent quality, much better than cheap X-stand that Adorama gives. Costco version should be 128-poliphony.

There are some higher end Rolands under 1000 . This is a good beginner piano though

I will second this. The stand and the bench it comes with are over $100 each on Amazon and it also has a pair of headphones that are around $50. The Costco version is slightly better as well with a few added features. I believe it has a year of lessons through the app too. Well worth the extra $80.

Hard to say unless you are comparing specific models, and even then a lot of it comes down to preference and what you want to use it for.

Roland has an action that feels more like a real piano than other brands, but the tones can sound more synthetic, and they use stretch tuning which can also make it sound out of tune to some people. Casio will tend to have warmer tones and sound more in tune, but the key action can be noisy. However some Rolands will develop key clicks that drive people mad.

A lot of people buy Roland for the action, and change the sounds with software. If you want something that sounds better right out of the box, maybe go with Casio or Yamaha instead. But this is all very subjective.

so in layman terms - it simulates sounds of other pianos?

so you vouch for the Costco bench, stand, and headphones? i keep hearing they are crap, but maybe that's specific to the other bundles you see on Amazon and Adorama
