Well, in the Apple lineup probably--but it depends on what you need. If just portability for general office work and content consumption, pretty much any Apple macbook would do, and save you a few bucks. Grab a M2 air on sale and you'll be good for that workflow.

If you do graphics, photo/video editing, etc. the higher GPU cores will help at this price point. But you could also be just fine an M1 Pro refurb, which would be significantly cheaper. If doing music creation/production, most Apple silicon is fine, although the improved single core performance on the M3 series will benefit projects with multiple effects on single tracks and needs for low latency.
I was looking at m1 pro refurbs with 16gb for ~$1350, and ended up with this. The extra $400 for an M3 and extra 2gb memory is probably not worth it but I did it because these are almost 3 years "newer", are actually new instead of refurb, should hold their value a little longer, and the new neat space black color. (Which honestly doesn't look very different from space grey IMO, probably not worth it). It's kind of a toss up between the two, but I went with this. I don't regret it, but there is not a huge bang for the buck for the extra $400 if you really just want the best deal.

Curious, Isn't this better ? same price, no membership needed and no tax when applying for credit card ?

Curious. Who said anything about this BBY deal being necessarily better than the B&H one?

If I have a Bestbuy 5 minute from me that I can pick it up for a last-minute Christmas present, is it not better than to wait for extended holiday shipping times?

If I think I might want to return it. Wouldn't I choose a nearby retailer that I know will take it back, rather than some online store that something might happen during return shipping or inspection?

If I just opened a BBY credit card and can get 10% back, wouldn't that be better?

So the lesson here I think, is that people have different priorities and personal preferences that make them choose one or the other.

But I am still confused as to why you think the Slickdeals community somehow collectively decided this BBY deal is better???

Interesting rant, but to answer your question it is because it's on the front page.

Make it 1TB for that price and I'd bite. But....Apple upgrade tax. Too bad.
