Ergonomically, the best position vertically is such that the center of the tv is at your eye level when seated. TVs have been really increasing in size lately, so if you take -- for instance, a 65-inch tv, and set it on top of this 24-inch high stand, you're looking at a tv-center 24+18 = 42 inches off the ground. This means if your eyes (when seated) are roughly 3.5 feet off the ground, you are in the most optimal position, ergonomically. Plenty of people like to higher up on the wall , or (gasp) above a fireplace still....but this far from ergonomically optimal. Do you though. That's the nice thing about having one's own place

Isn't MDF heavier than plywood? So being heavy might not be an indication of quality and being non-MDF.

I bought this a month ago and set my expectations low because its cheap to begin with. I can tell its cheap wood but its beautiful. Bought 2 of them and painted the wall black. It turned out great but don't set your expectations too high thinking you're getting real wood for the price. I would say though that the quality is little bit above your usual mainstays furniture.

Might work for some people, but enclosing all of your electronics in a stand like this is suicide. I suppose 9ne could cut out part of the back and install fans while leaving the doors open to mitigate the extreme heat issue.

To be fair, loading up entertainment centers with a bunch of set top boxes and players is becoming less common with the move to streaming.

The worst offenders these days are going to be the Xbox and PS5, but they should be fine if that's the only device running and you don't block the top cutouts with the shelves so that heat can escape.

For the Xbox, you probably can't use all the shelves anyway.

Material is wood. Should I assume it's MDF?
One of the reviews confirms MDF

I'm impressed most by the fact that the picture actually has the TV on the stand. Seems more often than not that the TV is wall mounted.

I'm gonna use the cabinet for records, but if I did run equipment in it then I don't think I would run any equipment without the door being opened.

It's really heavy duty so it would definitely hold a 85", but the base would hang over the edges
