Yes, we all know it's more expensive to order through Uber/Doordash/Grubhub. But Uber frequently gives out 40% off coupons which usually make up for that + any tips.
YMMV -- AMEX Platinum offers has $25 off $250 at Best Buy that expires tomorrow to stack on top of this
I just got one that was 50%. Plus those stack with the buy-one-get-one-free items offered by some restaurants.

Yes. But don't over-load or you're trusting they do right by you if anything ever goes wrong
What do you do with the unloaded gift cards if Uber doesn't do right by you?

can you elaborate? how do they F your account?
Shut it down and keep the money you loaded to the now-closed account. At least if you apply them $100 at a time as you need them you can resell or give away to others (or try using on your new account)

I don't know what you guys are doing to get Uber to F over your account though. I have used them for years now and have never had any issues with them. It is still a good idea to only load one gift card at a time to your Uber balance just in case you do run into issues like some of these other posters.

Of course it's our fault and it's something we're doing but let me give you 3 examples:
  1. I had a ride from uptown to midtown Manhattan to an address clearly on 24th Street. For whatever reason Uber's map put the destination on 21st Street. Correct address but wrong GPS location. You can't see this 3 block difference at the start of the trip from uptown. When we got close to the destination the driver almost made a wrong turn. The driver helped us to update the location 3 blocks away using the pin. He could've just dropped us 3 blocks north but didn't want to do it that way. For whatever reason, this 3 block change increased the price $40. Going through their support to show the map is wrong was pointless. They had no ability to comprehend the problem and instead insisted on the infallibility of software and that the price difference resulted came from surge pricing. I disputed that payment and the Uber Pass charge on my credit card which got the attention of somebody who could comprehend English. She put the address into her map which showed that Uber's map had the correct destination address on the wrong street. She also recognized that a 3 block change in destination when the trip was basically over should be immaterial to the price and removed the difference. It took 2 credit card disputes to get the attention of somebody capable of understanding.
  2. I ordered groceries off Uber Eats with a 40% off promotion for scheduled delivery the next day. The check out went fine but when the groceries were delivered, the promotion vanished from the order and I was charged full price. I contacted useless support who tried to claim that there was no promotion and that the problem was because of price differences in store versus the mobile application. I explained that 66% increase (inverse of 40% off) in in the total from check out isn't some minor price difference between the store and the mobile application, that's a material price difference which should negate the order and the only way that's possible is if there was a promotion otherwise it's bait and switch on this side of the world. Despite showing the math I again had to dispute the credit card charge to get somebody who comprehended plain English who recognized that at the 66% increase could only result from a promotion after checked out and awarded me the $25 difference in Uber Cash.
  3. Uber Eats and Postmates used to send me 5 promotions per week which I used religiously. This was actually the core of my weekly meal planning at 1 point but it turns out I'm not a profitable customer and I'm now shadow banned from using promotion codes on Uber Eats and Postmates, as are at least a handful of others here. I've discussed my experience about this this at length on another thread https://slickdeals.net/f/17073523-uber-one-select-accounts-are-getting-52-off-1-year-subscription-47-52?p=167150542#post167150542

Their support is maddening on the rare occasions something goes wrong. I had a food order where a burger was burned to the point of being inedible. When you submit a claim for a refund, you have to submit a picture of the food, or the app will not let you submit the claim. It's impossible to submit the claim without the picture.

Their support came back and claimed I didn't submit a picture and insisted there wasn't anything they could do until I did. I argued with them repeatedly that it wasn't possible but they never, ever acknowledged what I was saying to them. Just kept repeating that I needed to submit a picture for food I'd already thrown in the trash and I wasn't going dumpster diving to find it.

And then there was the time I requested a ride, the driver accepted, but didn't show and wasn't responding to messages. The map showed him not moving. I messaged support telling them they needed to check on their driver because he may have been in an accident. No response. No way to cancel the ride. I kept trying for almost an hour.

My wife had to come get me. Then after I got home more than 1.5hrs after requesting the ride, Uber re-assigned it to another driver without any notifications until I started getting messages from the new driver sitting at my pickup point. Total cluster. Luckily I was eventually able to resolve this one and found out the original driver was ok. Wasted the second driver's time and gas, but nothing I could do about that.

It was a rare thing, but again their support is a nightmare to deal with. I haven't been banned, but I can easily see how their support could drive someone to the point of getting themselves banned.

That wasn't the question though, I want to know if its possible to stack.

I don't use uber eats at all apart from the AMEX cash.

I think it's effectively not stacking, since you can't choose how much of a gift card to use.
Stacks for me with my AMEX.

If by AMEX deal, you mean spend $250 get $25 back then I received mine from previous gift cards on December 14. I didn't receive any e-mail confirmation that I used my offer but I have the statement credit already. The companion card hasn't yet received the statement credit from yesterday but the offer is gone from her profile so I suspect it's in between redeemed and posted. She also didn't receive any e-mail.
