They are a new line from Oral B that is more similar to Philips Sonicare with sonic vibrations and rotation, not just rotation. In my opinion, it's far superior to the older Oral B type.
I only recently got the iO 4, through a Secondipity sale which was posted here in early October. So far I really like it; I was worried that the sensation would be unbearable for me (autism causes certain physical sensitivities for me), but I've gotten used to the vibrations. My dentist has always recommended electric toothbrushes, so I guess they do the job better.

From everything I'd read, there are a ton of counterfeit replacement heads on Amazon and eBay and such sites, and the best way to buy them is retail through trusted stores, though they are regularly priced at least $10 a head. So I went ahead and bought these and posted here despite my hesitation to do so (I rarely spot a proper deal),

I'm questioning this as well. I'm getting gum recession which I've not gotten before. I can't tell if it is the iO, but I have been considering it and have been using it on the Sensitive setting in an effort to reduce any negative effects. A soft bristle option would be good to have; I'm not aware that there is such a thing for iO.

Looks like maybe the iO Gentle Care replacement brush heads is their version of soft.

From a hygiene standpoint it's a bit questionable however the real issue is the likely fraying of the bristles, making them way less effective at cleaning. Every 3 months is the standard replacement schedule.

And if u use the cheap ones id replace way more often than that like once every 2-3 weeks for optimal cleaning

Been using an iO9 brush for a while now. You got to constantly clean the brush or it grows mold all over the attachment area. I never had this issue with my Sonicare or my older Oral-B models.

Someone said above that the tax you pay on the Sam's Club sale charges tax for the full $49.99, whereas the Oral B website is only charging tax on $39.99. Either way, it looks like the Sam's Club price is back to $49.99.

I got auto-cancellations when I tried using the Paypal button on the first screen. What worked instead was typing in an email on the first screen (but not checking the agree-to-spam box), continuing to the next screen, and then using Paypal to pay.

Can you use iO head on Pro 1000 handle?

Oral-B says:

Which replacement brush head fits my Oral-B toothbrush?

Oral-B offers a variety of replacement heads for your specific oral care needs. And since all of our brush heads fit all of our electric toothbrush handles (except iO and Pulsonic), it's easy to find the perfect fit for you.

What does that even mean? They specifically say since ALL BRUSH HEADS FIT ALL HANDLES.... then they just casually throw in parenthesis "except iO and Pulsonic", so did they mean to say NOT ALL HEADS FIT ALL HANDLES!? Which is a polar opposite of what they initially said.

When I contacted Oral-B - they acknowledged the deceptive wording - the true answer is NOT ALL HEADS FIT ALL HANDLES.

Oral-B iO heads do not fit Pro Handles.
