We're reaching out to our TurboTax Desktop customers to share an important change to how you'll install and activate your software this upcoming 2023 tax season.

To install and activate TurboTax 2023 on your computer, you'll be prompted to sign in to your existing Intuit Account (or create an account if you don't already have one) before entering your license code. The software won't install unless you sign in to your Intuit Account online. Importantly, your product license code can only be associated with one Intuit Account.

Your license code will then be stored in your Intuit Account, should you need to install the software again.
Does anyone know if this login requirement will create a limitation to filing taxes for more than one person with an given install / license? In prior years other people can share usinge a single computer install of turbotax and file individually with their own Intuit Account to pay for state e-filing fees.

Online is never as cheap as desktop. Plus you can share the desktop license for up to 5 eFiles.

I suspect this is still the case and the prior poster misread as there has been a login requirement post install for several years. If it is true, just create a new intuit account used for just sharing the license key with friends Smilie

So, slightly better by $1 on the Deluxe version than when they had this deal recently on November 25th. Guess next year I will wait for this deal in December; $1 is a $1 Smilie.

Does anyone know if the download version will work for both PC and Mac? Some in the household who need to file use Mac while others use PC. In the past, I always bought the CD version which I knew could be installed on both PC and Mac but thought the download version was platform specific.

Also, I know buying the CD adds sales tax, but I think the download version does not. Can anyone else confirm?
