YMMV Lowes just marked down the Trufuel 32oz ethanol free unleaded gas in the metal cans. Some stores are now 75% off with lots of stock around me.

Sure you can buy pump gas and additives to keep it good for a short while but this stuff is great for smaller engines you don't use all the time that might benefit from long gas life and small engine additives. I bought some for my generators just in case.

Manufacturer says it lasts at least 5 years while sealed up. Cheap insurance to keep a can or two on hand if you own a gas generator or need to keep a container on hand just in case you have a "run out of gas situation" (but I wouldn't normally suggest carrying gas in the trunk of your car all the time).

Not all stores are at the $1.72 level yet so check here:

Good hunting. Retail is normally $6.98.

Just because it's a better option for you, doesn't mean it's better option for everyone. No one is saying this is cheaper than buying ethanol free gas from a pump if you have one nearby. Convenience has a price, and for a few bucks it's way more convenient to have a can of this on hand for a lawn mower that only uses one can every few weeks.

Ketchup is cheaper by the gallon too, but I like to splurge on the little squeeze bottles.
the main reason this is so cheap is it might be getting close to the expiration date...shelf life unopened is 5 yrs...check the date its the first 5 numbers on the can ...19123 reads as 2019 May 3rd...some say 5 yrs is pushing it...so its the first two numbers are the year (19) 2019 then the next three 123rd day of that year
Heads to see if Project Farm has tested this product....

EDIT: And he has. Works about as well as 91 pump gas but overpriced in his testing. However, at this price point a good buy to have on hand for generators. PF did not test the claim storage life which would've been nice to have for a data point.

Why? I bought 26 cans that are good for almost 5 years. Between my lawn mower and snow thrower I use about 7 cans a year. At $1.72 a can it was a no brainer. These last 5 years unopened and 2 years after opening. I suspect at 92 octanes sealed they will last longer than that. I have a lawn service mow my lawn, but I mow my woods which I have cleared and the outer part of my yard.
Why????...because the cans may not last as long as they say and/or they may have other quality control issues. Though possible...I highly doubt the multiple bad cans, that made my saw run like crap hit their expiration date while sitting on the shelf of one of the busiest stores in the area while the other cans bought at the same time ran fine. So either they did go bad or the contents were not made right...either way I'm sticking with diy mixing. I don't want to risk my equipment. If I relied on my power equipment to make $ I surely wouldn't run the stuff but hey...it's your $ and your equipment...do what you want. Hope all your cans burn great for you.

I bought the 4 cycle cans and not the oil gas mixture. I have using for almost 6 years and have never had a problem. I use in my lawn mower and snow thrower. I wish I had a gas station near me that had no ethanol gas.
