If it's a reputable cable, it has to be able to carry 40 Gbps up to 50 meters to be called cat7.

I bought these at ~$3 this summer. They are crap. Two out of the 3 I bought had random bandwidth and disconnect issues to the different devices I connected them to. One of them I carefully ran along the rafters and the second one I just laid on the ground to test after I couldn't believe the first one was an issue because it has been years since I've had a cable bad out of the gate.

These are cool because due to the flat shape of the cable, it's very easy to stuff them between baseboards and carpet. I've ran a few of these around rooms to the opposite side and its invisible. There were a few tight spots but if you are careful with a flat head screwdriver to coax it, should work

Ive done the same but the cca cable is poor quality and had to run better copper monoprice cables in wall. I still have some of these in the baseboard but always suspicious when something fails to connect...

Hmm interesting I have not encountered that, tbf tho I was using a different brand of cable, 35 and 75 foot white flat cables from Amazon, I can't remember the name though. One thing I did find is there was a location I wanted to pull it through a closet wall so I cut off the connector to do that. But trying to crimp a new connector was impossible, it was like 28+ gauge stranded very very fine and I couldn't get it to seat in my cat5 connectors. It appeared to be solid copper but yes very very fine strands.

Excellent timing. Just got a new router, which seems to have made the already flaky wifi on an old laptop even more flaky, so just decided to wire it instead. While Cat7 is serious overkill for my needs, it's cheaper than some Cat5e on Amazon that I was about to pull the trigger on.

I bought the same cables from seller Jadol from Amazon. Works fine for light use. Due to the thin wire, you do stand a good chance to get DOA products, so test it a lot before the return date, before relying on it.

I bought from Amazon for slightly more due to free overnight delivery.

I use two of these and they are rock solid. That said, I wish I'd spent a bit more on a roll of Cat 6e riser cable because although this Amazon Basics cable comes with nail clips, it should not be permanently installed anywhere since it's highly flammable and will carry flames to other parts of your house.
