Any insight on this one? I really don't care for touchscreens, but maybe it's something worth overlooking for the other specs?

Saw this at my warehouse today so you should be able to bypass the $15 S/H. Some flex in the keyboard, but little to none on the screen. Can't tell if the lid is plastic or aluminum. Very light, but hated that it comes with a barrel charger. CMON LENOVO! Give us a type C charger! The one I saw was blue not silver like OP posted.

7740 would be worth it. 7730 is older tech sold as new.

Documents for this model are available at Lenovo Support website

Nothing great about this laptop. It's definitely very serviceable for basic usage and comes with a 2-year Costco Concierge warranty. Priced a bit higher than what I consider a budget laptop ($500 and less), but it also offers features that don't often come with those devices.

The Zen 3-based Ryzen 7 7730U debuted in January 2023. It is still a very capable CPU with 8 cores & 16 threads. Passmark CPU Mark single thread 3126, multi thread 18826.

Integrated GPU is Radeon Graphics (Vega 8, up to 2.0 GHz), which is a bit dated but can still handle older and less demanding games. FWIW, I still game a little on an old laptop with only 8GB RAM and an older generation Ryzen 5 2500U CPU with a far slower integrated GPU (Vega 8 graphics, up to 1.1GHz). Definitely no AAA titles, though, lol.

16GB RAM is soldered; no slots for user upgrades.

The display is 300 nits 45% NTSC and touch, so better than typical 250 nits, 45% NTSC, non-touch entry level screens. Bonus is the display is 16:10 aspect ratio, which is better for productivity (less scrolling).

Has USB-C charging, a 1080P webcam w/privacy shutter, a fingerprint reader, and a backlit keyboard -- things you don't always find on budget laptops.

Need a decent family laptop. Is Lenovo a solid brand? My 2019 Acer Aspire 5 can barely load a screen. Even a fresh OS install.

Lenovo is a good brand, they used to make the IBM ThinkPad corporate laptops before IBM sold that business to them. They have different levels of quality, pricing, and capabilities. You can read about the differences in Lenovo lines here, all 6 are listed in the URL: https://www.digitaltrends.com/com...ok-legion/
