well that's a very different problem than saying the GPU can't handle it.

Good luck getting anything besides Minesweeper to run at ultra 5120x1440 @200Hz. Even my 4090 can't push that many frames on anything remotely modern. If you turn on potato mode, maybe...but I'm an ultra or gtfh guy.

And 1500R at that width is garbage. 1000R ftw.

Great deal for what it is, but 32:9 is NOT ideal for gaming no matter what anyone would like to tell you. Been there, done that, won't go back. 21:9 ftw. If you want it for productivity/WFH purposes, probably a good buy.
Yeah it's great for WFH /productivity. I've had some luck with older games on a 3080, some requiring mods. Microsoft Flight Simulator is fun but frame rate is fairly low - not a deal breaker really for that one. It can be a great experience but probably not the best for newer games, especially if you want to push the Hz.

It was on sale black Friday. Beautiful monitor but the constant brightness adjustment is annoying, looks more like brightness flicker. Some reviewers have mentioned this.

You don't know what you are talking about, this still takes less GPU power to drive than a 4k monitor (7m vs 8m pixels). 4090s drive 4k no problem and therefore a 5k x 1400 would also be no sweat.
