I can't say for sure but I have an IdeaPad3 w/3050ti that allowed for expansion up to 64gb and was very easy. Id be imagine this to be the same.

I don't get it. The spec has a separated good graphic card, but monitor is "45% NTSC" ?! That's only 45% of color gamut, and colors would look DULL!!

I'd bet you are correct. My IdeaPad 3 (not the same as this one though) I bought in March said the same thing but accepted up to 64gb of DDR4. Been a nice machine for the $450 I've got in it.

Yeah sure, the screen isn't great by any stretch, but price-to-performance is insane. In for 1.

Found this spec sheet (really hard to Google this laptop when Lenovo reused the model number for the last few years): https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/...7?tab=spec

... According to that, max 16gb RAM "offering". Not sure if that means that's the max that's offered from them, or if that's the max the system will take. Either way, lots of bang for your buck.

Is the Best Buy Acer Helios Neo 13500hx/4050 140w overall better than this for another $150?

Trying to see if i could save $150 and get this instead.

Maybe the Acer has better build quality?

Yes, the Neo is way better in almost every way and justifies the $100-150 jump, I'd lean more if it was the former.

But, for your 9yr old this would suffice perfectly.

Save your money, the difference between 120-165hz refresh is really only perceptible to pro gamers. Plus the 13500HX CPU in the Helios is SIGNIFICANTLY less efficient and will run quite a lot hotter/louder per gram of cooling than the 7735HS. For gaming with a 4050, the 7735 is plenty.
