I bought a set of 1\2 inch drive, deep 12pt impact sockets, ~5 years ago, and they have held up great! I use them often, with my Milwaukee 1400 ft.lb. impact, and haven't broken one yet. I bought the set for $20. Crazy good price.
Harbor freight quality has improved by leaps and bounds in recent years.

I would refuse your return without a receipt. In stores that wouldn't, the computer defaults to the lowest rang price from the last 90 days as the value without a receipt.

I use the crap out of my harbor freight tools and they all hold up as well as any other brand. Plus most of their stuff has a lifetime warranty so you take the broken stuff there and they give you a new tool no questions asked.

Good to know. Certain stores may be jackasses, or maybe breaker bars are a company-wide issue as I'd imagine those are some of their most frequent warranty claims. I hope they're not tightening up on warranty throughout the company as that's been one thing that draws people in, but they've had major policy change blunders before, e.g. the no-more-coupons era.
