I have some sweaters and coats from factory in regular rotation with my Madewell and regular J Crew things. Some of the stuff they have is pretty decent, especially the jeans.

Means they are classics and not as trendy pieces that go into the landfill quick. J Crew has always been preppy and more classic. Some people get mad when the fabric or design changes from their tried and true. Fashion is cyclical, so yep you will see those same designs in 15 years when they come back around. They have 60% clearance all the time, its not an indicator of anything other than a regular holiday weekend.

They have designated basically all the sale items as "final sale"--you can't return even if unworn, tags attached, etc. That's kind of ridiculous for online shopping in America 2024.

FYI, if you have a physical store near you, they almost always have 70% off clearance in-store when they have online sales like this (60% off online). The in-store clearance is 70% off the lowest ticketed price, so the savings is usually more than 70% off retail. Quality is hit and miss, but definitely some hits -- their men's shirts/sweaters are more timeless and classic, the women's jewelry usually offers some versatile pieces, and you can pick up some fun graphic tees for just a few bucks. If you are a Cricut crafter who plays around with custom tees you can pick up solid colored ones for just a few bucks during these sales, cheaper than Walmart. Highly recommend stopping in a physical store if you can.
