If you don't need 36GB of RAM, B&H has the 18GB version for $2199, which is the lowest I've seen this base model 16" M3 Pro.

Yes, would be buyers should compare

1. Trade-In. Apple gave me better trade in, more than the $100 difference in EDU. B&H trade in was $200 or something.

2. Credit card. 3% apple cash vs. whatever you have.

That could sway your final decision.

I am still looking for 14" Max deal, hopefully it comes soon after this 16"

Maybe this is a bad place to ask. I have a 14" M1 Pro with apple care that expires in early 2026. If I trade in now, I would lose that applecare right?

I really want a 16" Macbook pro so I'm unsure how to go about this. I stay plugged in to a monitor the entire time I'm at home which makes the 14" ok, but when I travel, I wish I had the 16" screen.

AppleCare is attached to the device, not the owner. So yes, you'll have to buy AppleCare for the new Mac.

It's insane to see how M-chip mac laptops literally blew out of the water any competitors. No other laptop can compare to what Apple offers at this point, and I've tried everything.

Damn so expensive. How many years of OS updates does Apple offer on this machine?

Why does it have 512GB with non expandable storage. Completely wasted considering the massive ram and you'll always need an external drive.

The $2199 price is still cached at appleinsider.com: https://prices.appleinsider.com/m...16-inch-m3
And here's the order I made.

I think they support Mac's 5-6 years, and iOS 6-8 years. Since the m1 Macs are ARM like iPhones, hopefully they will go with the latter.
