My guess is Arlo is discounting their hardware to force you into their revamped subscription plan(s) that are going into effect at some point in the future. They announced this tail-end of 2022, but received an enormous amount of backlash from the community so the CEO came out and delayed the official start date until later. Can't recall when that date is, but be expected to pay a monthly subscription on your arlo cameras (per camera) eventually. Somebody check when that date is.

$5/month for one camera, or $25/month for 2 and up. Buyer beware.

I have 7 of these. They've been pretty solid, reliable and easy to set up. The only issue that is a PITA is rotating battery's since I have to muscle a ladder back out. I also pay the monthly for recording etc. might grab 2 more but not a bad price for more coverage.

Yes, I love the original ones. I still use them to this day. However, I refuse to buy news ones because of the subscription service.

Look like it still able to record to the hub if you have one.

If you are going this route make sure the hub supports it. Not all of them do. I had to buy a new hub to store the videos locally instead of paying.

I believe the $25 is for the secure and safety pro sub which is camera and personal security bundled. Also if you pay for annual sub that drops to about $21 a month.

The camera only secure pro sub is $13 a month or $11 a month on the annual sub.
