Seriously? at that point might as well just buy from Goodwill. I was about to buy a computer from here, but their 15% restock fee deterred me.

My refurbished Dell latitude started to have blue screen often. I have it for only 4 months.

I have purchased lot of desktop and laptop for business as refurbished Dell. No issues. Sounds like you got one bad unit. Just return it.

I bought one of their refurb laptops last week and it lasted one day. What is going on with them selling all this crap?

Are the prices even that good? Worth the risk? I've been out of the market for so long I just see a bunch of specs and have no idea anymore. Comparing it to brand new computers is obviously not up there but since these are obviously several Generations behind.

Eh. Not really. Just took a peek.

The 99 optiplex would be alright as a plex or game server, but the other stuff is barely a deal.

Same. Purchased a refurbished laptop. Worked fine for a couple of months. About 6 months in wouldn't boot up. Outside of 90 day warranty. Now its a $400 paperweight. Don't waste your time or money. I'll never buy refurbished laptops from Dell.

I've only ever bought refurbished from the Dell Outlet directly from dell.com (https://www.dell.com/en-us/dfh/lp/outlet), this site "dellrefurbished.com" is new to me although it seems it is owned by Dell Financial Services. My experience with Dell Outlet has been extremely positive, but that involved a lot of work getting $2K laptops down to $500 (talking to Dell CS to remove itemized bundled tech support etc.) and I'm not sure if this is still possible in the last 3 years. Dell Premium Warranty is also the best, will send you a technician directly to your hotel room (to repaste your laptop with liquid metal for example) and in other cases will replace your system with a completely upgraded model for free.

I will never do business with "DellRefurbished.com". Despite their marketing literature, it was NOT refurbished by Dell nor "Dell Techs". It had a orange sticker on the bottom that it was from FedEx.
Additionally, I bought the listed/recommended memory direct from Crucial, and it prompted would not post. I then noticed that the 1 stick of Ram the system came with, wasn't in the specified "1" slot, but the "2". The "1" slot did not work. So obviously their "refurbishment" was to move the memory and hope no one ever noticed.
I had to file with my CC to dispute the charge to get an RMA/full refund.

The system I bought from "Dell refurbished" did not have an actual Dell warranty. :-/

my last few batches of desktops and laptops have had poor components

Kingston RAM, not that big of a deal, would prefer Samsung or Hynix
Unknown SSD, this is my biggest concern, no brand ssds, Ive had kingfast, saichi, and a couple of other unknown manufacturers. Immediately pulled and replaced.

Reached out to support to see if this is standard practice by their refurbers, with no reply to the question but did send replacement drives. The replacements were just some other no name drive.

I understand cheapening out, but atleast put in adata or lite-on. Something I can actually find some specs and firmware for.

Yeah on eBay you will find Dell systems often running older samsung ssd drives which is better than random no name drives
