This has the recessed back as well - so it will sit flush against your wall over a regular size non-decora outlet plate. $10 is a good deal.

Harbor freight has six outlets for around three dollars apiece if you don't need anything with the higher output

Never heard of this brand. I mean, this looks like a nice design, etc., but I don't know about rolling the dice on weird no name brand stuff like this. Seems it is sold under multiple names? Looks identical and same price, but another no name Chinese rebrand?

I've bought a few of these over the years and they all tend to have an extremely high pitched whine when in use. During the day, when there is lots going on, you can't hear it. But at night it's quite clear. I've tried several Chinese brands and they all tend to have this whine.

I've not personally tried LVETEK, but I've tried other ALLCAPS Chinese brands.

I hope you're kidding. This is more cheap Chinese direct marketing junk being dumped on consumers who don't care about the safety of their home/lives.

These WILL fail and there will be no one to hold accountable.

These are NOT UL certified.

I'm sure this works great for a majority of owners, but I just don't want to take the risk. Sometimes, I like to research the other products by the brand and if there are many other products offered, I know they are vested and may want to maintain a reputation. I'm willing to try those. When I do order it, I test it out to make sure it doesn't get overly hot, doesn't emit a burning smell, and doesn't die after 28 days. When it does, ack to Amazon it goes. Pain to do this but it's worth it considering it can burn your house down!

ETL is the same requirement as UL, the only difference is which company performed the testing.

There was a big push to take the monopoly away from UL a while back. So now there are 5 or so companies that can do the listing, however they are still UL compliant

So, for all practical purposes, this is safe. Though I would check ETLs actual list and make sure this product/brand are on there

The biggest problem with these sort of outlets is that they only have a plastic plug for the bottom ground… So when you try to pull out your cords, you end up, yanking it off the wall… Which invariably will break that little plastic peg and then it's even harder to unplug a device without pulling this out of the wall…

My recommendation is to use Velcro strips and Velcro it to the outlet to give it some added strength so you can unplug devices without risking breaking the plastic plug…

BTW, The best ones have metal plugs for the top and bottom, which is far more difficult to accidentally unplug. HOWEVER, if using one that has metal prongs on the top and bottom, do you want to make sure that you're not connecting it to an outlet that split across two different circuits… Or we are one outlet is controlled by a light switch… because in that case you're combining the circuits.

IMHO, This one is a slightly better deal, because although it cost a little bit more per unit, it also has a screw to secure it as well as a shelf… And the plugs go out at a 90° angle which puts less pressure on pulling it out of the outlet by accident. it's a two pack so cost per unit is about $13.50

And if you can do without USB see this is an exceptional deal because it has a 50% off coupon (cost per unit: ~$7.50):

(Probably deserves it's own the thread, but I'll leave that to somebody else, lol)
