Can't tell where the bladder sits in this. The versions where it sits lower in the pack ("lumbar reservoir") are much more comfortable. Love my volt.

Hard to do. They sell kits with thin brushes that go into the hose. I just take apart the hose and soak it in a solution of vinegar, water and dish soap overnight. Also you can sun some solution of bleach and water through it and let it air dry.

hydration bladder goes in a pocket inside the same main zippered pocket. it will be annoying to refill the bladder if you have other things packed in the bag. i strongly prefer a dedicated pocket for the hydration bladder, but consider that before purchasing.

That's not correct: 'The wide zip opening access the dedicated hydration sleeve.'

That looks like the main compartment to me, separate from the hydration pocket.
You might be right: different models - 70oz - separate sleeve and 85oz, like this one - same compartment with a separator (could be also different year models)
