I'm trying to figure out telescopes but slow learner considering my savy level.

I want around 15x and view things between 1/4 and 5 miles away(even 10-15 miles if I want to see mountains well).
What do I need?

We have a new house with a view. Its a view to stores, restraunts, airport, and beyond is industrial area, then mountains. I'd like to figure out what I'm looking at.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I bought the last golf binocular deal for $50. It is 7x I think. I can see the street corners a mile away. So revealing. I want more.

OPS telescope seems to be made for things about 100 meters away, based on what people use it for in reviews.

I had one of these cheap barskas briefly, thinking it would be fine for checking targets at 100 yards. NOPE. Worthless.

Yeah, I grabbed one of these a while back hoping it would be acceptable to check my targets at roughly the same distance and it's very blurry. I wasn't expecting much, and was still disappointed.

You'd be much happier with a good pair of binoculars and a tripod. Burris, Zeiss, Leupold, Vortex, and others are great middle priced options. My Burris Signature HD 12x50mm are my favorite. They're OK with a steady hand, but better for viewing wildlife or details at distance with a tripod.I haven't tried Athlon binoculars, but I am very pleaed with their riflescopes, so they may be good as well.
