Kingston RAM, not that big of a deal, would prefer Samsung or Hynix as thats what they normally came with
Unknown SSD, this is my biggest concern, no brand ssds, Ive had kingfast, saichi, and a couple of other unknown manufacturers. Immediately pulled and replaced.
Reached out to support to see if this is standard practice by their refurbers, with no reply to the question but did send replacement drives. The replacements were just some other no name drive.
I understand cheapening out, but atleast put in adata or lite-on. Something I can actually find some specs and firmware for.

I talked my friend into buying a refurbished Dell XPS last year, and she has had problems nonstop with it. I felt really bad.

No issues with Dell and Dell Outlet, and when I do have issues, support takes care of it.
My issue is with DellRefurbished and DFS, Dell Financial Services that run it. Whatever refurbers they are utilizing are putting in poor components and even the cleaning has been poor.
I'm willing to accept poor cleaning and not changing crusty old thermal paste. A few minutes of my time to sort that out.
I cant accept crap components.
Also the rubber feet were replaced with substitutes like you would get at Home Depot.
