I bought the Sport EXP last time and you can definitely take the adders out of the handle.
Thanks for confirming. That's what I thought

Damn my bad, totally stupid comment, that's on me. For some reason I thought the grey set wasn't expandable, as that's what Woot had in the past. My apologies as either set has adder weights and expands. So definitely both sets are great! Luckily my comment about the stand is at least still true šŸ˜‚

For those wondering on the differences between The Sport EXP and PowerBlock EXP…….they are the same product, but different colors (from the product listing).

Sport EXP = Metallic grey finish with black color bands
PowerBlock EXP = Black finish with red color bands.

From my prior tracking of wanting a set of expandable Powerblocks, to date woot has had more of the sport model on sale than the non sport model.

From my tracking of these (as I missed out last time they were sold at woot) note that the stand will sell out first.
- The benefit of the stand is that it saves your back having to bend down to pick up heavy weights from the floor multiple times.

I'm confused… are either of these options good to buy if you initially want something that goes up to 50lbs but eventually want to expand it so that it goes to 90lbs? It sounds like the Elite USA Exp only does that? I'm so confused.

correct - as long as it has EXP in it's name, it's expandable - so both options (sport and non sport) are expandable

The black and red ones are def expandable, I own them and the stage 2 expansion.
Btw, have had these for almost 3 years and besides very small chipping of the paint on the metal weights due normal use, they have held up perfect. They are a little bulky due to their shape and a little more effort to change weight if you want to do increments of 2.5/5lbs in the same workout as you have to remove the cylinder weights on the inside but we are talking like 30 seconds as oppose to 5 seconds. Otherwise, 0 practical complaints and expect these to last me well over a decade.

But Elite also says EXP on the handles.

So make sure the handles don't say ELITE on them otherwise these won't fit.

These are more compact (in length) than the Bowflex. These also have a flat end so nothing to push into your leg if you place them near your knee to get them into position. I'd get these for sure over the Bowflex. I'm sure you can find YouTube videos comparing both.

Thanks for this distinction. I was just thinking about the 2 options on sale at woot (non elite versions) when replying to his comment but knowing these aren't compatible with the elites is good to know.

There are plenty of YouTube videos comparing these to bow flex. After watching them I decided to go for these. I think I decided on these due to feedback on durability of the Powerblocks. You might luck out with a cheap set on fb but it's going to be total luck of the draw. The benefit of these is the storage footprint for a considerable range of weight is very small indeed.

Wow nice never seen the expandable sets on sale before.
I have a 50lb db Sport set and a really old elite series that goes up to 87.5. Plenty for me as I'll
Just use my barbell for heavier. But a really great product for this with limited space.

Deal is back on the foldable powerblock weight stand. Free shipping for prime members

Looking at this table it states.

"Will work with any PowerBlock welded (non Urethane) set up to 90 lbs"

I have phase one set and its 50 pds each side. Do you think its 90 pds a side or 90 pds total weight???
