I've watched this movie more than once and I'm just remembering when you said it that it was with English subtitles. I never had a problem with subtitles as watching movies in their original language make it feel more authentic to me although I cannot understand the language. Can't say I enjoyed this one due to the story, but it's the only religious movie that really moved me and let me felt like I was witnessing the events first hand. Will be purchasing this. At $3 it's a steal.

This movie is even more important for non-christians who think Jesus was just a spiritual leader or soothsayer.

After watching it you will either think he was a lunatic or really did something for everyone.

Saw this in the theater 20 years ago and was greatly affected by it. On a cinematic level alone it is a landmark achievement. Bought the DVD when it came out but never brought myself to watch it again, it's still in its shrink wrap. It's that kind of movie.
