Just got a Panny 4k player on order. Which 3 discs should I get for dolby vision and atmos?

update with specs: LG C1 and a 5.1.2 Denon.
No Time to Die, Edge of Tomorrow, then either Fury Road, Dune, Godzilla King of the Monsters, Pacific Rim,or BR2049.

I didn't really care for Fury Road, Dune, Pacific Rim or BR20249 but they are kinda the default for reference 4k movies. Godzilla KOTM is not a good movie but the Atmos track will rock your house. No Time to Die has great PQ.

That's a long list. Which ones are worth watching in a Home Theater 7.1.2 ?

1)Mad max
2)Dunkirk
3)Kong : Skull Island
Dunkirk isn't Atmos so I would skip. Edge of Tomorrow and No Time to Die.

Tough broad question when you consider design, implementation, quality of equipment, quality of transfer of both PQ & AQ, etc come into play.

Not many movies received a good/reference transfer in both PQ & AQ.
From personal experience the only discs I would call reference in both PQ & AQ(off the top of my head) would be Dune,Titanic,1917 & maybe Blade runner 2049.
This is from a 5.2.4, Oled calibrated display in a dedicated room.

You will find a debate even within that list because all the things I mentioned prior and what is considered good varies from person to person.

Luckily Dune and BR2049 are on this list.
Check out No Time to Die if you haven't watched it yet.

I went with Cool Hand Luke, Spartacus, and The Northman. Been wanting to do a Spartacus rewatch anyway, so good timing. Hopefully there is some bonus stuff on there.

Thanks for the deal. Scooped up 9. Some I definitely wanted, some sort've filler. Been mostly looking for the big action/visual stuff with Atmos. Most of the better movies part of the sale I have already. And many of the others on my To-Buy list aren't part of the sale.

Scott Pilgrim (Love this movie)
Blade (A classic)
Ready Player One (Haven't seen this since theater. Maybe I'll like it more now)

Pan's Labyrinth (Maybe only seen this once?)
The Thing (A classic)
Pacific Rim (Eh. Wasn't a fan but seems worth a rewatch on the home theater)
Edge of Tomorrow (Decent. Again, home theater rewatch)
300 (Seen a few times. Striking visuals.)

3840 - UHD, 4K, and it's still just bluray. But 3840 is only consumer grade 4K, you have yet to see "true" UHD which is 4096.
4096 is a projection format that was never intended to be displayed on a tv, it's for movie theatres only, which is why you've never seen it on disk.

the difference in actual resolution is miniscule, so calling 3840 "consumer grade" is misleading nonsense.

Damnit Dune just went OOS. Hmm, maybe they'll get more before sale end.

Blade Runner 2049, Matrix resurrections, Dunkirk

Resurrections isn't very good, but the video quality is incredible

Most of these were a lot cheaper at GRUV last month.

Is Amazon PM another retailer for this deal?
