Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank karrun

These really sound decent, especially if you don't try to fill up a large room. I got mine a year or so ago with a $20 new user discount so it was only $79. Well worth it.

You cannot, no subwoofer output on this bar.

What are you hoping to accomplish with ARC that you won't get out of cec on optical with a 2.0 soundbar?

There are plenty of things to criticize here, but lack of HDMI is pretty far down on that list.

Would this be sufficient for an outdoor movie night with projector and 18ft inflatable portable screen (for rental purposes)? Or would the bass be too lacking for this and a 2.1 setup would be necessary?

Do you need arc to adjust the soundbar volume with the television remote?

Ha, CEC over optical. To answer your question, yeah, you'll need to keep a second remote handy for this thing unless you use analog in.

Sure.

And optical has about 1/3 the bitrate available to it compared to ARC over hdmi, and that's before eARC. Sure, they're just sound bars, but optical had its day long ago.

Don't buy a non-HDMI sound bar in 2024 if you want solid TV integration. Which makes it the first item on my list - and easy to pass on without further consideration.

Yeah thanks, I've ordered my soundbar already (samsung) but thought this looked like a weird setup compared to everything else I had been shopping for. HDMI seemed like a basic requirement.
