I have one of these cases, and they're pretty good.

I have this case. It does the job but guitar flops around in it. Wouldn't buy it again.

If you just need a hard case to pop an LP style of guitar in a closet or storage unit, by all means this is a perfectly serviceable low price case if nothing special. But personally I've moved away from these plywood and tolex construction cases as they're not particularly good at anything. The protection offered is mediocre and the bulk is significant. If you want to store/carry your guitar on sort of a daily or casual gig basis, hard polyfoam is the way to go (e.g. the Gator GL-LPS). If you're a serious musician whose instrument needs protection from actual on the road abuse, get yourself a TSA or flight series case which will be molded poly or ABS.

I know this is SD but I think it's worthwhile to spend some money to protect something quite a lot more valuable inside.

You'll want a case meant for a Fender guitar. This one almost certainly doesn't fit.
