VZW refuses to let me activate my M1 11" iPad Pro on my account so I set up a new account here, told Mint I was bringing an eSIM phone, and activated on my iPad using the supplied QR code. Works right away. Great alternative, thanks for the post

We made the mistake of calling and having them do it for us. Hindsight I should have just done it myself. Ditto on the verizon thing, as soon as everything was activated, I couldn't even access the verizon app anymore

Take a look at Tello. Unlimited talk, unlimited text, $8 per month plus sales tax. For $2 additional per month, you get 2 GB of cellular data. I have it for a special phone we use for one of my businesses, and it costs us roughly $10.15 per month for the talk/text/2GB data.
