And just to describe one bug I have to work around, the colors look beautiful except when the YouTube UI pops up which temporarily shifts everything until I can make the UI disappear.
Were I buying for someone else (e.g. - my sister, who loves OLED color) I'd likely default to buying a non-touch model (especially knowing that she's not a touchscreen fanatic as is the case with me). If I personally buy an OLED with touchscreen I'd likely skip the ASUS in favor of something like a premium HP Spectre or Envy model in the hopes that I might have access to all the necessary tweaks to manage issues specific to daily driving an OLED display. Another option for me personally would be sticking to a Samsung device... despite the many gripes about screen cracking. (Again, something I'd risk personally but wouldn't want to potentially curse anyone else)
In the meantime, I'm sticking to an older, non-OLED, 6th generation CPU Spectre hoping that before the Windows 10 updates run out a killer OLED-touch equipped replacement arrives that mitigates some of these issues.

I keep the fan profile to whisper setting & the fan runs quietly. It doesn't seem to get that warm, I feel it a bit from time to time but it being winter here, is a plus for now. Battery life is meh with light usage (multiple Firefox tabs & YouTube videos, excel & word). It's what's making me consider this HP with ryzen 7840.
What's really annoying me are the bottom firing speakers. Unless the laptop is on a flat surface to reflect sound off from, it sounds bass heavy, muddled, & lacking treble. Once it's on a flat surface, the speakers sound great. So sitting on the sofa with the laptop in lap, have to find a way to get the sound to reflect off... Sigh.
Have till January 13th to consider return...

How good is the 780M integrated graphics? Is it a nice boost over the Vega or Intel's Iris xe?
The heating solution is weak on this laptop (a corner they cut). Basic browsing with the fan off causes the 7840u to gain about 1 degree every 5 seconds. The fan then triggers at 50C I believe, which cools it down to 40C. This rinses and repeats. So every 2 minutes or so you go from a silent laptop, to an audible fan laptop. You can kinda deal with this on/off behavior by just setting the fan to always on in BIOS.
Also someone mentioned on the BF thread that the default power plan is messed up at plugged in which sets minimum processor state to 80%.
