They really should put a usb c/thunderbolt hub on these
CES starts in a few days. Lots of OLED monitor announcements coming, along with pricing. Jsut wait a few days.
These comments are nuts. Telling people on the Slickdeals website who are looking for deals to wait for the new models that come out in the next few months that will most likely near double the price. Makes no sense.

I'm waiting for that so I can pick up one of these 2nd hand for cheap (Under $400)
Hmmm, that's not happening. Not any time soon anyways. If they have any brains their new models are going to cost over $1,000 day 1. I don't know why they'd encroach the price of their current monitors. They wouldn't ever do that in years prior.

I mean thats basically what happened with my current monitor (this monitor's IPS predecessor)
My only concern is that it uses FreeSync technology and not G-Sync. Is that not really a issue I should be concerned with?
Even though it's not listed on Nvidia's G-Sync compatibility page, I haven't noticed any problems with mine fed by an RTX 4080. HDR 1000 gaming is amazeballs. Doom Eternal will sear your retinas, Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing is just incredible, but screen shots can't capture how amazing it looks, especially with chrome items.
I built a new rig almost a year ago and since getting my Xbox Series X I had hardly been gaming on my PC which was getting older (built in 2015, put in a RTX 2070 in 2018) and HDR games on my OLED TV were so great. But now that I've got the pimped rig and the DWF OLED, I can't recall the last time I've turned on the XBSeX.

Realistically the new OLED versions are going to be over $1000 on day 1. OLED tvs still cost that much.
I got the lowest cost on this monitor brand new. Black Friday a CB website had 18% CB at Dell. Dell was also offering a $100 GC with a purchase of the monitor. No way is that deal being touched until next black Friday. That's $244 off. ($800 - $244 = $556). I'm a professional slick dealer. 😉
If I had a credit card offer I could have gotten it for cheaper but I didn't have one for Dell.
Got a great deal at BB Open Box on Black Friday. FANTASTIC MONITOR.
I scored an INSANE deal on an open box unit in August when they were having a sale for $900 new which forces down the open box prices. I had $165 in RZ certs saved so with all the discounts it would've been $610 before tax.
Monitor arrives and discover some crook had bought it, swapped in their old DW model ( the one that had G-Sync, but couldn't update the firmware, and was white plastic), and returned it and no one in the process spotted the swap. Took it back to a store and the manager offered me a NEW unit at the same price if I was willing to go to a store a half-hour away to pick it up. Well, let me thi....HELLS YEAH!!!
The best part was that for some reason when he refunded the first purchase (open box) and ran the 2nd (new) one they refunded me the RZ amount as well. A couple weeks later my statement showed another $165 credit so I ended up getting a NEW unit for $472 w/tax, almost $600 less than the regular new price w/tax! Winning!
Then I had to spend almost $100 for a pole monitor mount so I could stack my old 27" Acer Predator 1440- 144Hz display over the DWF which looks like this[imgur.com].

the new 1k OLED monitors to be announced next week will have significantly better text clarity and 240hz refresh (or 480hz if you consider LG's options) which basically making them top tier dual purpose work + gaming use. So is that worth $500+ over this one...i dunno but that's a very strong compelling argument for those who need a display for both use cases.

To net 240hz in games you need to generate 240FPS in games you play. If you play games with low graphic fidelity while having a very powerful graphics card, that can be reached. But any modern game with good graphics? No way is anyone getting that many frames to be able to fully utilize the technology.
You can use the 240hz while browsing websites though outside of games. I'm not sure at what point you get diminishing returns. 165hz is almost 3x the difference vs a regular 60hz monitor. If you already have a 165hz monitor, 240hz is only about 1.4x more.

You might want to double check the BB reward point refund. Everything is automated. It doesn't make any sense that they would refund BB reward points to cash. That doesn't make any sense.
Also for those interested. I bought this stand from Amazon several years ago. I run two 34" ultrawide monitors in vertical orientation. The stand is really good. I heard you can go slightly larger with one of the monitors (38" ultrawide and a 34") but I haven't tested that out. I know two 34" ultrawides fit comfortably. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DGU92DM/

once you switch to 240 you will most likely notice a difference from 165hz. i notice this with my samsung 240hz G7 and im not a pro gamer or anything. Eventually your eyes just get adjusted to the higher refresh no different than changing visual quality from med to high ....some notice it more than others. In terms of hardware, depends on your budget but high refresh is always a nice to have in the event you can afford higher end hardware or running older games.
Own it, got it during BF at this price with a $100 or $200 Dell gc (can't recall) and 18% CB. The "issues" are always from people that never had it. It's probably one of the best bang for buck for given specs. My biggest gripe (besides the annoying pixel cleaning) is the atrocious HDR implementation by Windows. This is obviously not the monitor's fault. It looks best on HDR400 true black so don't be swindled by the HDR1000 cert as it's mostly bs.
I have this. The picture clarity and motion clarity especially cannot be beat, but my only complaint is that ... it's too small. Meaning, it's too short, there isn't enough vertical space to provide full immersion. The ultrawide is more annoying to me than anything else, I miss my 32" 16x9.
The one thing that might give you pause is that the new qd-oled monitors are coming out in a month. 32" 4k 240hz at $1200, worth comparing the two.

Did you firmware update the monitor?
The HDR1000 looks pretty darn amazing. Watching movies and playing video games with really dark scenes, it really allows you to see things that weren't possible before. I'm sure really dark games like the new Dead Space will look amazing. I wouldn't keep HDR1000 on at all time. When I'm doing actual work on my PC I turn off HDR, I don't need my eyeballs seared. Any movies and video games? The HDR1000 is being activated.
