Last time they had the 64gb version from QVC it was on the old version of fireOS. I was able to use full fire toolbox. It's worth a try if you want a fire tablet with google. I think they came with 7.2.2.1

So ur actually saying iplay 50 mini pro is better than s9 tab.... Just stop. This seems like a promotion for whatever iplay is and i am genuinely cringing.

This thing is slow with 3gb ram. I am willing to pay $30 more if it's 8gb ram.
Ram isn't everything. If the O/S isn't optimized and has a sub-par processor, the extra ram isn't going to help much.

I fell into this going to the 4GB version of this and it is still slow. My iPad Air 2 from almost 10 years ago runs smoother compared to this tablet.

Not at the moment.

I have the 4GB version and while i had hopes that the extra ram would help, this thing is still slow. When I bought mine I was able to remove most of the Amazon bloatware to make it close to a stock Android tablet. This you can't do to the same extent anymore with the newer firmware. I've posted in other forums but these tablets are junk. Even for kids they are going to complain to you about it being slow. I notice issues running Youtube and trying to switch to just another app all of the time. There is a reason why these things are so cheap and they get progressively worse as the applications get even more bloatware.
Thank you for saving me $60!

Wouldn't it be good enough for seniors (who aren't in a hurry)? My dad is still happy with his several year old Fire HD 8, but it's getting to where some apps won't work anymore.

Your a funny guy.

So I have multiple tablets in my home. From a HP X2 11 Chromebook Tablet to a Tab S9 and a Tab S8+ and a Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2 and this iplay 50 mini pro. I love all these tablets... but the best value was the P11 Pro Gen 2 (scored it for $215 last year with 4GB of RAM and 128GB hard drive... this tablet now sells for $319) and the iplay 50 mini pro.

But the iplay 50 mini pro is so much lighter to hold then the Tab S9. The iplay 50 mini pro to me is the best value of any tablet right now. Again, I have this tablet and I have the Tab S9 as well as others.

You seem to miss the entire point... for $140 you get a GOOD Android experience. I am just as happy using my iplay 50 mini pro then when I am using my Tab S9.

BUT I WILL ADD... when I steam from unethical websites sometimes with my Tab S9 the picture freezes and the sound continues and I have yet experience this with the iplay 50 mini pro and YES this is OS (software) related. Does that mean that the iplay 50 mini pro is better, NO... but it is more stable IMHO. I love both of these tablets but I do get frustrated when the picture freezes with my Tab S9. ALSO, when I first got the tab S9 I installed a few apps and then I went to download Netflix and it said it is not compatible with my tablet... I had to factory reset the tablet and I choose Netflix as my first app to download and it now works. Lastly, the Tab S9 has a TON of bloatware from Samsung and the iplay 50 mini pro has zero bloatware and is pure Android... I prefer the pure Android feel. But I do like Android 14 more then Android 13.

Why wouldn't a piece of shit tablet be good enough for seniors... are you kidding me.

You know I ask my mom the same question... WHY do you want a car, cause you can always take the bus... you know, she is a senior.

Because it's not a piece of shit. I have the 2019 HD 10 and it works well enough. And as I said, my dad is OK with an old HD 8, so why wouldn't he be good with a newer faster HD10. If the only problem is being slow, as you say, why wouldn't it be good for an older, slower, person with nowhere to be.

Because we disagree, it is a piece of shit. Why not spend a few bucks... like $140 plus tax and get his something decent.

The only thing a fire tablet is good for is for a ton of frustration. Maybe if you know what you are doing and you are a computer geek... the tablet may be OKish but if you are OLD and slow, I would not recommend this tablet.

At the moment is probably would be ok for older people. The issue is a year from now when apps become bigger and less optimized that it will make it worse. IMO I would rather spend some extra money now and have it last longer over replacing it in a year or two.

Like I said earlier, my iPad Air 2 which is almost 10 years old opens and scrolls through PDFs without any waiting for the page to load when scrolling. I can't say the same for the Fire HD 10 plus.

Yeah that 2019 is a piece of hot garbage. I tried to run custom roms on it too and it made things so much worse. The 2021 is slightly better but has issues from the get-go. I can't imagine it lasting another year or two before it is so slow that I chuck it.

I won't buy another Fire tablet again. Amazon's solution is either buy a new one for format your existing one

They're very similar. Same CPU's.

So let me get this straight. You've been a member here for 2 months and you're implying that a couple of long time members with thousands of posts are promoters ? The one guy didn't get a 6000+ reputation by being a shill.
Their posts might be a little off topic but they are just pointing out another option that might be more appropriate for some folks.
While you can't beat them for the price I have a couple Fire Tablets and they are very basic and slow. Probably best suited for occasional use, well suited for downloading from Netflix etc. for later offline viewing.
