Home Depot runs their workshops on the 1st Saturday of the month @ 9a - 12p or till they run out of kits. It is every month and on the Sat after BF. They provide the kits, aprons and pins for free along with usage of paint and tools to build them. I think there is a registration site but I've never seen them use one.

Lowes usually holds there on the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of the month, Lowe's generally requires advance registration which is available about a month before their Workshop. In addition to the free kits, aprons, iron on patches and goggles they are having a FREE Tool Bag promo through the end of the year.

This is one of my 4 YO daughter's favorite thing to do and her older brothers enjoyed them till they were about 12.

Call it marketing but fun with parents is memories created and tends to stick with you. Who cares where it comes from. Win win for both parties for free .
Loved these when my daughter was younger, but note to parents. WHO CARES WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE, LET THE KID DO IT.

It was so annoying to see parents literally take over the whole project to make it perfect, while the kid sat and watched.

Had so much fun watching my daughter develop hand-eye coordinator, strength, painting skills, etc. I often ended up with paint up to my elbows as I was the "holder" of items while she painted, but I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.

When it was all said and done, she had nearly 50 "completed" pins!
Thumbs up for being a good dad!

Thanks for details! I will have to wait for few years to participate 😊

My son just turned 3. We went to the Home Depot one yesterday because he loves anything that can tow. The delivery truck was a bonus for him because he can fill it up. He absolutely loved it. I built 80-90% of it because he just doesn't have the fine motor skills, and I didn't trust him with the glue. But, he hit a few nails that I started for him until he couldn't drive them anymore, and he turned a few screws till he needed me to finish them. He really liked the work apron and the badge, and he said he had a lot of fun. Plus, he got a new truck. Depends on the craft and the kid.

My son and I have been doing these since he was 3, they restarted these right towards the tail end of Covid maybe 18 or so months ago.

Since then we do it every month - this last weekend was the busiest I've seen it since, and the first time I ever saw them with a registration form.

Since my son has more pins on his apron then a WWII general, we just walked up and grabbed one without registering, but they ran out of kits by 10:30-11 or so.

Make sure to grab your kids an Apron since each kit has a pin showing the craft they built.

Didn't know Lowe's also has a Kid's workshop. Anyone has experience with it?

Very good too. Nice little kits with paint and an apron with a pin. I was at one with my 7 year old who was being very creative with her painting. Meanwhile a 5 year old was saying "Mom will you just let me paint it how I want?"
