And when this happens, I will hope for 1500. Desires never cease to exist. Wink

For reference, Microcenter has a similarly spec'ed M3 Max variant for $3,869.99 (2TB, 64GB RAM, 40 GPU cores) so a pretty decent deal. M3 is better, but it's not THAT much better. Crazy what Apple charges for more RAM and storage, although it's nothing new.

1TB of storage. I would much rather have 2TB.

Is this price better than a m3 variant with similar specs? Wish my microcenter had this. Shipping not available

Well if its 1500, it'll definitely go down to 1300...

As someone who is currently editing a relatively long 4k documentary on an M1 Pro Mac Pro with 16GB/1TB with little to no hiccups in Premiere Pro... don't underestimate the power of the cheaper models. This deal is tempting to me for the sake of future-proofing, but i've been shocked with how well these machines perform (was a lifelong PC user beforehand).

Great price/config if you've got a MC nearby and have a need for an M1 Max with 64GB/2TB (it makes a really good local LLM AI machine).

I got this same config (brand new/closeout) from BH Photo just before christmas @ $2300 and I have no regrets. This thing is an absolute beast, and the 14" base M1 Pro I had before it was no slouch either.

These are easily among the best laptops ever made.

H264/H265 for almost everything. The built in encoders are a game changer.

Plenty of effects and lumetri color grading on 50% preview or higher.
