To many factors to easily answer that question. I would tell you that there is a lot of debate that goes on in forums about this subject. Depending on budget print size and quality of prints.

I would tell you to do some reading in forums and watch YouTube videos about this topic.

I wouldn't recommend rushing into it as there is usually decent deals popping up for printers.

What do you want to print or, if you don't want to print things, are you looking to make 3D printer maintenance and upgrades your hobby?

Honestly I don't have an idea of what to print, just really tinkering and something to do with my 10& 9 year old

Spend the money on a Prusa Mini. The size will limit you in what you can print, but your learning curve will be limited to understanding how a slicer works as long as you buy quality filament. If you want to design your own things, you can add modeling software to the list. If you buy an inexpensive printer there's a good chance you'll have to learn how to flash firmware and troubleshoot/repair/replace parts of the printer that fail or don't quite work right, and a 9 or 10 year old will quickly get bored with things not printing right.

I say this as someone who has owned a Monoprice printer and a Creality printer with many upgrades, fixes, and workarounds to get the prints I wanted. And also someone who recently spent the cash on a Prusa and is now cursing the years spent fighting (excuse me "tinkering" and "learning") with other printers.

There's a coin flip's chance that you'll get everything you need out of this Creality and it will work just fine out of the box. You need to be especially unlucky to have problems with a Prusa. (NB: I hear that the Bambu printers are reliable - though theyre a young brand - and I have a friend who went plug-and-play with a Qidi, though it was as much as a Prusa Mk 3).
