I've always wanted to try out these low profile switches. Anything below 2mm travel for a switch is super low. Any one know if these accept standard mx cherry keycaps?

Yes but it's different, with this you don't get all the f keys and many of the key are multi use with the press and hold of another key . It can be very annoying for some games.

TKL has the F keys at the top, and also the cluster of home, page up, page down, delete buttons

I can do without the number pad, somehow I've been a heavy computer user for the last 25 years (these computers always had a number pad) and I just never got in the habit of using the number pad. But a lack of actual f keys turns me off.

Just get the steelsrries apex 100 membrane. I had a k70 rapid fire and recently swapped for the silent keys and it's a lot less irritating.
