If you're not doing photo printing or some other printing that requires inkjet then I suggest switching to color laser. Sounds overkill for occasional printing but I got so tired of cartridges drying up after printing a handful of pages. Switched to color laser and never looked back.

Look at the pictures for Epson printers. You will see this:



Epson has pushed out firmware updates that will completely lock out printing if it detects non-OEM ink. Research it. Lots of unhappy customers.

You misunderstood what I wrote. Epson's non-tank printers are "fixed" to not allow "compatible" ink cartridges. Of course, printers with tanks and bottles of ink, there is no way to enforce OEM only inks.

Same with HP and their non-tank printers -- fixed to not print if you use non-HP ink.

Unfortunately, Epson's best-selling Eco-tank printer with doc feeder is not part of the promo -- only one without doc feeder. The other Epson printers have been "fixed" to not work without Epson brand ink so buyer beware.

Same with Brother printers -- none of their Inkvestment tank printers (except one low end model) is on promo.

Tank printers are the future if you don't want to be forever tied to high-priced OEM cartridges.

Nice. Epson 3850 for $249 after the credit plus an extra 6% back for Amazon delivery day. Cheaper than it was at Costco over the holidays.

I can't find anything to confirm you can't use non Epson ink?

Did not see the 3850 in the deal but now I do! How did you get the 6% discount? When I choose Amazon Day delivery, I see zilch.

It's with the Prime credit card. 5% cashback normally but 6% if you chose Amazon delivery day.

I have this printer, you can put whatever ink into the tanks as you want. How is it going to know what brand you are using? It's has tanks. 🤣

This one is the best budget for sublimation printing. I use it for that purpose and use many different brand inks.

Looks like they bumped up the price by 50+ and giving $30 credit .. just checked, the printer I bought from Amazon during Black Friday for $54 is currently at $99 😊

Beware, this doesn't have duplex printing (front and back). We use this feature a lot when printing lot of papers for the kids. The 2850 from Costco has this.
