If you're not doing photo printing or some other printing that requires inkjet then I suggest switching to color laser. Sounds overkill for occasional printing but I got so tired of cartridges drying up after printing a handful of pages. Switched to color laser and never looked back.

Look at the pictures for Epson printers. You will see this:



Epson has pushed out firmware updates that will completely lock out printing if it detects non-OEM ink. Research it. Lots of unhappy customers.

You misunderstood what I wrote. Epson's non-tank printers are "fixed" to not allow "compatible" ink cartridges. Of course, printers with tanks and bottles of ink, there is no way to enforce OEM only inks.

Same with HP and their non-tank printers -- fixed to not print if you use non-HP ink.

To be fair, BF pricing is not normal pricing and BF pricing almost always is "bumped up" after the sale is over. One can't compare BF pricing to other times of the year.

A heads up. This new "receive credit 30 days after shipment" thing is BS.

Bought some pet food abt 2 months ago and was supposed to receive $20 credit after 30 days. "Receive $20 credit" was showing at checkout, double confirmed and screenshoted.

Fast forward 40 days, no credit. The support had no idea what I was talking abt. Sent screenshots, one supervisor told me anyone can make screenshots... Wasted hours of my time, the best they would offer me was $10 courtesy credit (allegedly "the max system allows us"). Im a prime member

OP, thanks for the effort, but you need to mention "30 days" part in the title, you haven't mentioned it even in the description

I'll keep it in the box and return the 2400 if I don't get my $55 promo credit. CR gives the 2400 a higher ratings for print quality than the 2850. Maybe, duplex printing kills the print quality.

When I first contacted CS (30 days after shipment as the terms state), I was told it is "30 days after delivery". I waited several days more and reached out again, they told me there was no $20 promo, we cannot do anything

Thing is, 30 days after you'll be pass that return window. I'd make the purchase only the price as is satisfies you and wouldnt count on the credit bc the promo I did had exactly same language "Get $X promotional credit when you buy at least 1 promotional item(s)", and the credit never arrived, nor did CS knew abt it. But Im 100% positive I did the promo correctly and double verified it, made screenshots as I knew some users reported not receiving the credit. I think this "30 days after" term is a new thing Amazon introduced, and their system doesnt fulfill it properly yet
