You know when you go to menards and go through the pile of 2x4s and toss the warped one to the side? These are the ones you toss to the side.
They take the 2x4s that no one wants, repile them up and put a sale sign on them.

I fell for this once... just once.
Hooooo. Tough guy!

Also, reminder to support and find out if you have a local lumber mill around you.

The one in my city sells wood to the public for 1/4 the price of big box home repair stores.
remember when 2x4s were $8+, now if only plywood prices came back to reality

After $1 Menards rebate. Through January 7th.

This lumber was chosen for its strength and appearance from the finest mills that meet stringent, sustainable forestry guidelines. It is easy to work with and preferred for interior construction uses due to its structural properties and fiber density.

It may vary by store/region, but the Menards I have been to have better lumber than Lowe's and Home Depot.

Menards lumber sucks. You'll spend 30 mins trying to find 10 boards that aren't trash

Their description of these 2x4s with "finest mills" etc is just hilarious. Pass. Also this is about normal price at my local cash and carry who has better lumber.

The straight ones at HD are usually in the back, and wet. They will warp within a couple of months. Not a problem if you used screws instead of nails tho
