Why not just buy an outdoor candle from Walmart for 5 bucks. Burn the candle. Then use the candle bucket? That's what I do.

Perhaps it contains a miniscule amount of lead. Rather than deal with the testing and relabeling of the product, they likely decided it isn't worth their time, or they sell a California specific variant.

I will be using this as a small garbage can in my garage as it has a handle

Any type of bucket with handle will work; just line it was aluminum foil for easy clean up.

Most if not all of those are just folded together at the seams and will leak. Unless you line it with foil like another user commented

Haha! Your saying I need to go through a whole citronella candle in order to use the bucket?? Link to the bacon flavored one
You might be on to something here! What if you cook bacon on the flat top while using this candle as a grease bucket you could replenish the candle with bacon grease while burning it!

...or you could burn your house down, second thought I'd just buy the above bucket or buy the candle and dump the candle out and burn it separately Big Grin

This deal is taking way to much energy I now need some bacon.

If that was the case they would leak wax on everyone's tables. I use the candle tin for my grease bucket and haven't leaked.

Wax is only liquid in a small pocket around a lit wick. Any liquid wax would quickly solidify in contact with the cooler metal before it seeps through the seams. Perhaps in your case your seams are sealed with solidified grease, but on a hot day it may start to leak. All I'm saying is this pail looks like it has soldered seams, and no cheap candle pail will. And five bucks is cheap insurance to not risk getting a greasy oil stain on your deck or patio.

Ive got no dog in this fight, but you should be made aware that the wax is liquid when the bucket is filled at the factory.
