Don't get it from Amazon. Hassle of likely getting a fake and returning.

What gives it away as a fake? How does one check?

you need to check it when you get it to make sure it will hold the full amount.

And make sure the write speeds are okay. But, we should all be doing this regardless of where we buy our memory.

Likely? Do you have any evidence of this, or are you spreading misinformation?

People love parroting things on the internet

That said I won't buy Sandisk anymore after their SSD scandal. Teamgroup let me down too. Samsung wins?

I've been on SD for 20+ years... registered for most of them. I am unaware of any widespread issues with SDers participating in deals and getting fake chips.

While the Amazon supply chain has had historical incidents of counterfeit products, we would have to extend that to a great number of products sold on Amazon, because it's more than just microSD cards. Then, SD would get really old, really fast, when anytime any Amazon SD comes up you have people warning about counterfeit products. The same goes for anytime we have an Amazon post and people want to make statements on Jeff Bezos, the Amazon workforce, and any number of issues that have nothing to do with the actual deal at hand.

Fair enough. At least you're original.

Lol it was pretty recent when Samsung's ssds fcked their ssds. Customers were forced to update their firmware o risk bricking their drives

I like using uSD cards to back up laptops which have a uSD slot. Is this card fast enough for this? I've been using Samsung pro plus cards which work well but are more expensive.

If one is not stupid enough to choose just any other vendor with or without "fulfilled by Amazon", chances of a fake are less. You should make sure that both the seller and the fulfillment is by Amazon otherwise the onus is completely on you and you walk into a fake one with your eyes wide open.
