Have both sizes and 12 is nice too, especially with the hollow core so I can stick my hand in it and manually roll forward/back while my weight is on it

12" refers to length. it may be small if you have a bigger frame.

Yes, I feel the length is small at just 12". Perhaps the pressure will be more and good for targeted areas.

Thought I'd that but somehow it just feels very small to me.

Also the deal is 25% off the normal price, which doesn't seem like big savings.
