Yeah I wish they had made it compatible with a wifi gateway like they do with their leak adapters so you could get the status remotely. Does anyone know whom makes a similar device that you can use remotely to check room temps?

Someone mentioned using a DIY bluetooth proxy for that but I rather just get a device that does it all as I plan to put like ~5 of these around the house.

The purpose of the bluetooth is to allow you to connect to the their app, thus allowing you to check the temps/humidity level remotely.
how the device going to connect via bt if you are 10 miles away from home with your cell.

the only sort of fix i see is if you have a second cell that you leave at home. the device would connect though that. so then when you are 10 miles away from home with your main cell you would be able to see the device readings on the app

Govee makes a range of devices. I use these and they work great, and the battery lasts about a year. https://us.govee.com/products/gov...ter-3-pack

I got these and they are with in 0.5 degrees of each other. I don't think the humidity is very accurate on them, I live in a extremely dry area and they both say humidity is 70+% both inside and out all the time. My ecobee woukd be warning me if that were the case. The range is pretty short as well on the Bluetooth, it pretty much had to be line of sight and doesn't go through any walls. I bought them for the temperature display and tracking that you can download from the app. For that they work pretty well.

I have these and 2 out of 3 have WiFi issues. On researching the problem seems not uncommon with these so ymmv. I do like them though and they still work with bluetooth.

I give these a HARD thumbs down. They suck down batteries so quick. They're great otherwise, but that is a super deal killer.

Can these be paired with the Govee smart heater? I own the heater and it does pretty well, but the built-in thermostat is not very accurate and does not cycle the heater on and off properly when using the Auto mode. I thought maybe pairing one of these would help with that issue?

Yep, I mentioned BT proxies with home assistant:
https://slickdeals.net/f/17212807-goveelife-hygrometer-thermometer-room-temperature-monitor-h5104-8-09-govee?v=1&p=168563254#post168563254

But after a few days, I concur with the above poster, the battery likely will be terrible on these. After 4ish days, the battery on my two are 93% and 91% - if the battery readings are accurate, this wont last a couple months. I got 2 for $10, so not a huge deal, wish there was an easy way to run this off a USB charger.
